I just came back from 2 year hiatus and main warrior and the strength/spellbreaker with might makes right is still viable but I prefer with tactics instead of discipline. I also use offhand axe with dagger and great sword. In other words tweak it to your liking but the base build can solo champions. 1. joslau-art.
Welcome to the installment of the DPS video! I did one of these for healers, and that was much more focused as the elite specs are fewer. This time around we

Engineer. The first class is the engineer, and engineers are considered the masters of the mechanical mayhem. Engineer is an outstanding choice if you love to enjoy a mix of support and ranged damage. The engineer is an adventure class and therefore wears medium armor. The engineer can throw grenades, and can drop medic kits.
This is why I love this game. Look at all these responses. All great answers for completely different reasons. Hands down my favorite was ritualist. I felt that class could do everything "good" and few things "great". But good, was always good enough. Trying to squeeze that class into doing ridiculous things was always a blast to me!
Fall/Winter Roadmap. Here’s a brief overview of our major release dates through the end of the year. October 4—Competitive Profession Balance Update, Jormag Legendary Weapon Skin Variants. All three classes have builds capable of handling challenging open world content solo and personally I can't pick one that I enjoy most. In order for most played: Ranger (Soul Beast), Engineer (Scrapper & Holo, Thief (Daredevil & Deadeye). In order of most fun: Thief, Ranger, Engineer.
Herald, renegade, weaver, tempest, soulbeast, scourge, mirage, daredevil, and firebrand all have excellent condition-based solo builds available that can handle practically anything and deal solid damage in the process. Even berserker and druid can manage to perform quite well in solo play and still sustain and deal damage.
A little boring ish sometimes. You want something that can sustain itself and survive even the biggest hits. Note that in guild wars 2, the dodge button is actually most of your damage mitigation. To do most content solo, you actually have to learn when to dodge and when are your opportunities to deal damage.
